The mission of the Music Department is to provide the ministry of music for the Jurisdiction.

I'm so excited about what God is doing in our ministry, and also about what God has in store for you. The word declares that if we are faithful in the small things that God will reward us to move on to bigger things! I encourage you to stay faithful and committed to the area that God has called you to. In the right season you will begin to see God reward you with even greater things. I am a firm believer that when you take care of God's business, he will in return take care of yours. (Matthew 6:33) Know that the BEST is yet to come in your personal lives and within our ministry!!

Building Sessions

Quarterly we will have a team building sessions. (Building leaders from the inside out) It is a time when we will come together as a team to reflect, pray, give updates, and impart. It is also a time where I will be able to share with you whatever God has placed on my heart regarding our ministry.

Pre-Musicals

Our music department hosts Pre-Musicals for SW3 Ministers and Workers Meeting & Holy Convocation. Rehearsal are set based on 3 Regions Northern Region- Saginaw, Michigan, Central Region- Lansing, M, Western Region- Grand Rapids, MI. Majority of the musical are held at Headquarters (Lansing COGIC).

Music Workshops

It is the goal to have annual music workshops, where we come together to build, sharpen, and edify one another, while sharpening our vocal/instrument abilities.

 Prayer & Fasting

Prayer and Fasting are key elements to our ministry, it is important to always keep and pure and genuine heart ready and willing to serve God. Remember that we are a ministry that is spiritually grounded and planted. When Fasts are called let’s do our very best to adhere to the rules of the fast. We want to first strengthen our personal relationships with Jesus, and ask God to help us in the areas where we are weak. We also want to be in alignment with our Bishop, and with whatever God is leading him to do. Obedience is key!

Ministry Enhancements (Assessments)

For our musical we the music team will have monetary assessments for the Executive Team, and each choir member. The ministry enhancements (Assessments) helps underwrite the financial obligations for the SW3 Music Department.

Communications/Media

The SW3 Music Department communicates on social media with a private Facebook Page (Members Only). Our group on Facebook share upcoming events of various churches throughout SW3, links to selected song material, and words of encouragement. Also, GroupMe is used as a quick and easy way to send music, department information, and words of encouragement.
